Our Delicious Pastry

Our vegetarian pies are made with a classic butter rough puff pastry. We use butter to create that wonderful rich taste. Each pie is then finished with 2 egg yolk washes, refrigerating between each wash to achieve a lovely golden finish once cooked.

 

For the vegan pastry we use Nuturli in place of butter. I find this to be equivalent in taste and texture, and finish each pie with a pea protein powder and water wash. I have experimented with oils and various vegan drink products but found pea protein to be one of the best washes as it creates a crunch and golden colour to the final pie.

Our Gourmet Fillings

Mac'n'Cheese Pie

This is a classic!

We use five different vegetarian cheeses (all plant based rennet) to create this supremely tasty and ultimately cheesy pie which is then  topped with fried breadcrumbs and even MORE cheese!

Mushroom & Tarragon Pie

​

This pie is stuffed to the crust with a medley of mushrooms, from the intense flavour of porcini to the delicacy of the oyster mushroom.

The fried shallots, mushrooms and tarragon are splashed with Pernod and come to rest in a delicious creamy sauce!

BBQ Jackfruit and Kale Pie

​

Filled to the brim with young jackfruit which has been seared in a rub before being simmered, long and slow, in a smoky bbq sauce and then 'pulled' and layered with chilli and garlic kale. Anyone would think you were on a porch in the Deep South!

Aubergine and Tomato Curry, Star of India, Pie

​

A colourful curry of fried aubergine, onions and tomato packed with the spices and aroma of India! Serve with a traditional cucumber raita and mango chutney for an authentic Anglo-Indian experience!

Spicy Carrot and Harissa Pie

​

Carrots, two ways, blended with the zest from oranges and lemons and for that North African spice kick, Rose Harissa. A layer of french beans adds a cooling crunch!

Seitan and Vegetable Pie

​

Locally homemade seitan lovingly simmered with onions, carrots and field mushrooms for that warming wintry stew all wrapped up in a luscious red wine gravy..Mmmm. 

Just add a roaring log fire!
